Introducing fisheye dewarping
Turn the warped circle from a 360° camera into a view you can actually use: look around the room, or see the whole floor in one panorama.
By the Savi product team · 3 min read

A 360° fisheye camera covers an entire room with a single lens, but the raw image is a distorted circle that is hard to read at a glance. Savi now dewarps that image for you, right in the browser, so a fisheye camera is as easy to watch as any other camera in your grid. There is nothing to configure on the camera itself.
Here’s how it works.
Cameras
Nothing to set up
Savi detects 360° cameras automatically. When you open one, a dewarp icon appears in the camera controls, and that’s where you turn dewarping on or off.
Video
Look around, or see it all at once
Every fisheye camera gets a view menu with two dewarped options. Look around gives you a normal camera view you can pan with your mouse, like turning your head in the room. Panorama unrolls the full 360° into one continuous strip, fit to the height of your window, that you pan left and right to move around the room. The original fisheye image is always one click away.

Events
Know exactly where you’re looking
When you open an event from a fisheye camera, a small icon on the video shows which part of the full 360° view you’re looking at. Pan to a different direction and the icon follows, so there’s no guessing where a corner of the room sits in the original image.
Available now
Fisheye dewarping is live for every customer today. Log in and open any 360° camera to try it, or book a demo if you’re new to Savi.
